21st American Cardinals Dinner
Atlanta, Georgia
Friday, April 23, 2010
Dear Friends,
Now that the Twentieth American Cardinals Dinner held in Houston on Friday, April 24, 2009, is over, I must say that I will be forever grateful to His Eminence, Cardinal Daniel N. DiNardo, for being such a wonderful co-host of the Mass and gala. This was the first time that the dinner has been held in Houston—in Texas, for that matter—and it was fantastic. The "folks" in Houston really worked diligently for their Cardinal. It is very evident that Cardinal DiNardo is loved by his people.
Since its inauguration in 1989, the American Cardinals Dinner has raised more than $25 million to sustain Catholic University. These funds are used to help meet the expenses of academically qualified students who are in need of financial support, so that they might be prepared to serve as wise and virtuous leaders of our nation. With the very generous support of this year's benefactors, The Catholic University of America will continue its mission to serve both God and country.
I hope you will mark your calendars to join the American Cardinals in attending the twenty-first dinner on April 23, 2010, in Atlanta—another first-time city for us! All of the information you need to attend the liturgy, to reserve a table for the dinner, and to secure hotel accommodations will be available on these web pages shortly. See you in Atlanta for some wonderful Southern hospitality.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Very Reverend David M. O’Connell, C.M.
President
