Twentieth American Cardinals Dinner
Houston, Texas
Friday, April 24, 2009
Dear Friends,
Now that the Nineteenth American Cardinals Dinner held in Boston on Friday, April 25, 2008, is over, I will be forever grateful to His Eminence Sean P. O'Malley, O.F.M. Cap., for being such a wonderful co-host of the gala. This was the third time that the dinner has been held in Boston and it was a wonderful way in which Catholic University could be involved with the bicentennial celebration of the archdiocese.
Since its inauguration in 1989, the American Cardinals Dinner has raised more than $23 million to sustain Catholic University. These funds are used to help meet the expenses of academically qualified students who are in need of financial support, so that they might be prepared to serve as wise and virtuous leaders of our nation. With the very generous support of this year's benefactors, The Catholic University of America will continue its mission to serve both God and country.
I hope you will mark your calendars to join the American Cardinals in attending the twentieth dinner on April 24, 2009, in Houston. All of the information you need to attend the liturgy, to reserve a table for the dinner, and to secure hotel accommodations at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency Houston can be found in these web pages. See y'all in Houston!!
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Very Reverend David M. O’Connell, C.M.
President
The Catholic University of America
